'90s Rap
2014 \ Graphic Design
Tasked with gathering dense information and presenting it in an interactive PDF and then translating the information into a poster, I chose to explore the origins and responses to some of the great rap beefs of the '90s, centered around the East Coast vs. West Coast tension. Ultimately I created a web of collaborations and conflicts, layered with record labels and gang affiliations (made possible by the information amalgamators at Rap Genius and Wikipedia).
This project definitely came into itself as a poster. It has more punch and aggression than the interactive PDF, although I am proud of myself for not reverting to graffiti or reappropriated olde style typography in Fresh Prince colors.
